Facebook was founded by a Harvard student, Mark Zuckerberg in 2004 who is only 20 years old. Facebook originally started from a school-based and then became the world largest social networking today which hits an astonishing number of 300 million registered user..Back to 2005, Facebook only opened itself to high schools and in 2006, it is opened to everyone. Since then, it has experience tremendous growth, bypassing Myspace in terms of global popularity. A year later, Facebook launched a platform which allows the developers to create application on the network which includes games, widgets, badges and more.
Facebook offers you the chance to interact with people around you by updating your own status on Facebook and chat with them through a chatbox. Facebook is also available for photo album sharing. tagging your friends in the photos and comment about it.
Besides that, Facebook supports groups and fan pages, allowing businesses to effectively use Facebook as a medium for social networking.
Moreover, Facebook Connect is a function that allows websites to connect with Facebook and allows Facebook to be used as a universal authentication service.
Now that Facebook has became a part of our culture, a movie about Facebook is produced. Basically, it talks on how Facebook is found and developed into the world's famous social network of today.
I personally don't have the chance to watch it. Please forgive me for not able to elaborate more about this movie. As I know it has been released on cinema for quite sometimes. If you want to watch it, you might need to buy yourself a DVD. Do make yourself some hot popping corns and lay back enjoy the movie.
